Starwalker is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that delivers multiple wavelengths in very short bursts. Those bursts break pigment into smaller particles, and the wavelength is adjusted to the type and depth of the pigment being treated.

For overall tone, a toning mode uses low energy across a broad area to even out the complexion. For individual spots, energy is focused on the target while protecting the surrounding skin.

Although it sits in the BYUS laser lifting family, Starwalker is a pigment treatment rather than a lifting treatment — and it is often planned alongside lifting for a complete result.

Pigment depth matters more than what the spot is called. Sensitive pigment is treated gently, with lower energy and spaced sessions. Aftercare — sun protection and moisturizing — is part of the plan, not an afterthought, and because freckles can recur, ongoing sun protection is recommended.
